Wind farm simulation with Windmodeller, a customised front end for ANSYS-CFX, means that wind flows over complex terrains can be assessed a lot more effectively and efficiently for wind farm site assessments.

Comprehensive multiphysics technology from ANSYS enables the boundaries of turbine technology to be pushed back by coupling simulations between structural dynamics and aerodynamics of the blades, heat transfer and electromagnetic losses in electrical equipment, and the response of offshore wind turbines to hydrodynamic waves. AQWA can take account of hydrodynamic interaction between adjacent structures. Thus the motions of one structure can affect the motions of another. The structures can be articulated, connected by cables or independent.A typical application would be shielding effects. Note that hydrodynamic interaction with forward speed is currently not available.
