CADFEM Apps

In collaboration with partners in 3 successful European projects, CADFEM Ireland Ltd have developed a range of web-enabled simulation applications aimed at Medical Device Manufacturers and Clinical Researchers. These IDACapps use ANSYS software as the simulation engine and EASA as the application authoring and management tool.

Balloon Expanded Stent (short demo) This demonstration (2 minutes) shows the balloon expanded stent application which is aimed at stent designers. The application accurately simulates the performance of laser cut stents under operating conditions. Crimp strains, maximum expansion strains/stresses, recoil, shortening, radial stiffness and fatigue performance are calculated. Typical run time is geometry dependent but is generally less than a few hours.
